A new article on Entrepreneur.com advocates the use of a blog as a starting point for marketing efforts, highlighting different ways it can help you achieve your goals.

Writing that addresses the web searches of your potential customers has got to be a great place to start connecting with them, right? There are so many ways to reach out these days digitally, and sometimes it's hard to know where to start. Social media, newsletters, ads - it's all there for the taking, yet, this article recommends starting simple, and keeping the value for consumers high.

Like anything, however, you'll need to put a certain amount of effort into your blogging, and do the following if you want to keep things professional and authoritative, and stop things going stale:
  • Keep your content looking as fresh as possible.
There's nothing with quite the turnoff potential as arriving on a site that hasn't been updated in eons. It's a terrible signal to send, and blogging can help you make sure that there's regular fresh material on your site when people visit.
  • Increase the time users stay on your site.
Dwell time is an important factor for any successful website. If people are staying a while longer, that's always a plus - and it will ultimately help you rank higher too.
  • Use long-tail keywords to your advantage.
It can be easy to overlook going further than the more obvious keywords when you blog, but longer-tail versions can get you the edge. It's harder to rank for extremely competitive keywords, so consider long-tail options too.
  • Learn about who's reading what on your blog
The data doesn't stop when a user leaves your website; you can also look at what they liked most and how long they stayed, as well as what type of products they're likely to buy.

Do some blogging, learn, rank higher, and improve traffic

Blogging can not only increase website traffic, but it can also help you rank higher too - and you can learn a lot about your visitors when you provide useful, relevant information and content!

  • Blogs play an important role in your website.
    1. By your blog, you can post a vast about your service or products. Like advantages, disadvantages (if require), Product description, Offers, Deals, etc. So that your audience can get a better idea about it.
    2. You can target the blog pages for SEO, and rank your website fast.
    3. You can post your blog's link in various Social Media Platforms. In this way, you can get a lot of traffic on your website.

Blogging increases the number of pages your website has, which tells Google it's an active site that gets a lot of attention from its administrators. It also boosts how often a search term will appear on your website. This is all gold dust for SEO.
    • Blogging attracts relevant people to your site
    • Being there for Micro-Moments with informative blogs
    • A blog builds trust between a visitor and a business
    • Blogs are better than social for SEO
    • Use your blog to demonstrate your expertise

  • Aside from the ranking/SEO benefits listed, it's also a supremely helpful way to sharpen writing skills and hone (and/or find) one's brand "voice."

Content is the king. Keeping your website hot on the internet by marketing is hard work. However, a good article brings you traffic organically and continuously. You can use a contemporary trending keyword in your article if you have a blog with your website.

Unless you're talking about a purely eCommerce site that's focused on listing products, there's nothing stopping you adding articles or other content as and when you want.

You only need a bogging platform if you want to encourage user engagement.

I have a blog myself and I am pleased with the traffic that I am getting from the search engines at no cost. Currently sharing my post more on places like twitter and YouTube bio to get more traffic.

I blog on a weekly basis so my content gets updates regularly. I do have to run a site test to eliminate a few bugs which will improve my site performance.

Why should you have a blog on your website? Three letters: SEO

Produce more unique, informative, and valuable content for your customers. Not only will quality content work to improve your search engine results ranking for the sake of bringing in quality leads, but will also serve to build up your brand awareness.

Great products and prices are attractive, but the secret is to keep your audience coming back even if they're not intending on making a purchase. Ultimately, an eye-opening article, infographic, or video can actually turn an interested reader or viewer into a customer.

Be consistent with your content production, and be sure to use SEO best practices to improve your organic search result ranking. When someone searches for your goods or services, you want to be on the top half of page one. That won't happen over night, so get started now. Remember - frequency of publication is as important as the quality of the content (if not more important).

I dig having a blog from a branding perspective.

Bloggers can customize blogs and update blogs frequently. Sites can be customized too but plugins seem to make the job easier for bloggers.

Blogs also give you a one-of-a-kind site potential with developers willing to design a bespoke theme for you.

Oodles of benefits for blog owners.
